2012 WINTER MOUNTAIN CLICK PHOTO COMP
WINNERS:
Congratulations to all who participated in the first ever Winter
Mountain Games Mountain Click Photo Comp.
Our panel of judges, consisting of David Clifford, Lucas Gilman and
Keith Ladzinski
have spent hours judging everyones photos and it's official. We
have winners. Some winners won in multiple categories and we had
our first ever sweep in the Performance category.
From David Clifford, Head Judge:
"Overall I was super impressed with the level of thought and the
amount of great images that the photographers brought to the table.
It's always tough when you pour out your heart and soul and don't
podium but I have to say everyone should be proud of the level of
photography that they produced. I really look forward to the Summer
Mountain Games and hope to see some familiar photographers back and
armed to the teeth with lenses and grins."
How it Worked:
Each judge ranked the top 10-15 images, in each category
(Performance, Mountain Magic, Vibe) starting with their favorite
(1) lowest to highest (10). If a judge felt a specific photo did
not make the top 10 photos it was given an 11.
Places for each category were determined by talling the three
judges scores for each photo. The competitor with the lowest NET
total by all three judges in each category was awarded 1st place. A
perfect score would have been 3 for example
2012 WINTER PERFORMANCE CATEGORY:
"Mad Props to Daniel Milchev who completely swept the
Performance Category. Daniel's elevated skill set and keen eye had
him clearly in a rank all by himself. I I look forward to watching
Daniel's career take a leap and hope that we can shoot side by side
again." -- David Clifford

2012 WINTER VIBE CATEGORY:
"The Vibe Category was much closer and trickier to judge. I was
super impressed with the emotion that Matt Trappe caught of an Ice
Climber who fell and was in anguish. This shot was more photo
journalistic and perhaps should have won that category which we
should consider for next year. Brianne really set the stage with
her phenominal sepia toned portrait of a biker and Eric Bratrud did
a fantastic job of catching a glimpse of what it's like to perform
in Vail during a snow storm." - David Clifford.

2012 WINTER MOUNTAIN MAGIC CATEGORY:
"Mountain Magic was really a pleasure to judge but also very tough
because I thought it was a 2 way tie between Arina Habich for her
well executed and interesting take on a sequence and Brianne
MacRunnel's collage which was simple yet eloquent and had so many
great moments it really showcased what a great event the WMG's was.
Douglas had some super graphic and very colorful imagery and I
really liked that he used the same technique for all 3 images. They
were all strong and I literally spent hours agonizing over who
should get 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in Mnt Magic." - David
