DAVID CLIFFORD:
I am a commercial & editorial photographer based in Aspen &
Denver CO.
I've been lucky enough to travel the world and document some of
the best climbers and runners in the world. As the Photo Editor at
Rock & Ice Magazine as well as Trail Runner Magazine I have
forged life long relationships with many talented people. I enjoy
spending time with creative and gifted athletes in amazing
locations.
I have been selected as a Red Bull Illume finalist, an America
24-7 photographer, a PDN Outdoor finalist and a Maggy award for
Photo Editing at Rock & Ice Magazine.
I've been a life long photographer and count myself lucky to
have so many friends in the industry. I've also spent the last 2
decades on the cutting edge and have mentored a half dozen of the
best outdoor photographers on the planet. It's been both a blessing
and a curse I relish. There is nothing quite as satisfying as
getting that next great image or sharing it with friends and fellow
aperture junkies.
When I am not behind the lens I spend time with my wife Rixt and 3
kids, Miles & Sasha (twins) and the new little man Hayden. When
I am not spending time with my family I can be found skiing,
mountain biking, climbing, trail running or searching for the
coolest vintage motorcycle around.
I also lead the Rock & Ice Magazine Photo Camps every June
and teach photography workshops at the Telluride Photo Festival
every fall.

DEREK JOHNSTON:
Derek Johnston is an Associate Professor and Program Director of
Professional Photography at Colorado Mountain College. His fine art
landscape work has been exhibited across the country including at
the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, IL. He has been
honored with a Colorado Council on the Arts Grant in Visual Arts
and is included in the critically acclaimed anthology,
Photography's Multiple Roles: Art, Market, Document, Science,

Derek matured as a photographer in the age of film and on certain
portfolios still uses traditional photographic processes. With his
fourteener project, Derek took on the arduous task of photographing
all of Colorado's fourteen thousand foot peaks. This work was
produced primarily with a 4x5 view camera and black and white film.
A sense of idealism and commitment to revealing more than just the
geography of these majestic mountains resulted in over 15 years of
climbing and photographing. Working in all seasons with extremely
variable weather conditions, Derek has spent countless days upon
end in high places waiting for the perfect combinations of light
and weather.
